The SETI@home project, which has been searching for extraterrestrial life for 21 years, has officially shut down. Launched in 1999, it garnered millions of volunteers who offered their computers' processing power to analyze data from radio telescopes. The primary goal was to scan radio waves from space in the hopes of detecting signals from intelligent civilizations. Despite providing valuable scientific data and witnessing a growing interest in space sciences, the project's management decided to conclude the initiative due to the decreasing number of participants and challenges in server load. SETI@home leaves behind an important legacy in the realms of space research and community collaboration, inspiring future scientific endeavors. Even with the end of this program, scientists continue to search for extraterrestrial life, utilizing new technologies and upcoming space missions.
